A native of Santa Barbara, Cheryl Hall began her piano studies at age 6. Her classical training has been with Dr. Leo Podolsky, concert artist and former faculty member of the Sherwood School of Music, Chicago; Kevin Fitz-Gerald, USC Chair of Collaborative Piano; and jazz studies with Jeffrey Lavner, Co-Chair Piano Department, The Colburn School. Her most recent solo recitals have been held at Mayman Hall at The Colburn School of Performing Arts.
As a professional pianist, harpsichordist, and chamber musician, she enjoys exploring new music and performing her current repertoire with leading classical players in Los Angeles, including members of the L.A. Philharmonic.
Ms. Hall currently teaches in Los Angeles and maintains a studio at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara. She is an active member of the California Music Teachers Association (CMTA).
With the Los Angeles Music Center, she has served for 13 years as Director of the Corwin Master Classes, where she worked with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in developing a tuition-free program for aspiring young musicians in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and throughout Southern California. The Los Angeles Philharmonic musicians were brought to Santa Barbara to conduct the program at the Arlington Theatre, sponsored by the Music Center Education Division and the Corwin Foundation.
